Jacques Philippe Imberton worked in the nineteenth century tradition of other French enamel artisans influenced by Islamic designs, also referred to as the 'Persian manner'. He worked for the Paris decorating company Bucan et Duponthieu beginning in 1882, exhibiting at the Paris Exposition of 1878 and created designs for Appert Freres in Clichy. Taking part in many World Fairs, J.P. Imberton also created a new technique for the process of enamel-making.
